How many coffees is too many?

How many coffees is too many?

It’s like the LinkedIn version of robocalls

Lets rewind. Part of why I decided to quit my job, besides the emotional turmoil it was causing me (that’s for another day) was because I was hounded by so many LinkedIn inbounds that I felt like the right opportunity was just sitting in my unread messages. I just needed the free time to say yes to that first 15 minute phone call and the flexibility to do so in the comfort of my home (vs. huddled in the office janitor closet). That’s when I realized I was getting caught in the bait and switch. I would meet every recruiter for coffee to learn more about the opportunity. They can’t tell you about the opportunity over email because its ‘confidential’ but rest assured, ‘it is an exciting opportunity that fits your experience very well’. No thank you, I don’t want to move to Nashville and work for a home office furniture company. Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful for every single opportunity that comes my way but not sure we are understanding each other here, dear recruiter.
