3 Favorites: Bra Tops

Bra tops.

Its no secret that I love a crop top. Maybe its because I love to show off the 1.5 abs that I have formed through running during quarantine. Maybe its because, when paired with my favorite slouchy Zara Jeans (they are on sale and there are only a few sizes left - get them now!!) that I have featured at least a dozen times on my Instagram, they give me the delicate, feminine silhouette I am always striving for. Or maybe I am just tired of the cold and of wearing chunky sweaters or multiple layers.

In any case, I have so many crop tops and I intend on adding more to my wardrobe this season. Here are my 3 favorites of the moment.

The bra top style is definitely not for the faint of heart – they show a lot of skin and most often require that you go sans bra (ironic, I know). That being said, here are a few tips on how to style them if you are looking to show off that new summer tan or if you are going for the look but prefer not to risk a nip-slip moment.

  • If you are not shy about showing skin, my number one tip is use nipple covers and fashion tape to secure yourself in the top. I use the linked options from Amazon and feel secure all day.

  • I often pair these barely-there bra tops with more loose, billowy bottoms as it leaves something for the imagination (which the top style clearly does not). A slouchy jean, a tailored long short, paperbag belted denim shorts, or a wide leg trouser are all great options.

  • If you are intimidated by showing this much skin but want to try the look, my favorite summer styling tip is to top it with a sleeveless vest. It gives your outfit structure and keeps you cool while also giving you coverage. Here is my favorite vest from Asos.
